All this “corn syrup” business, now in beer? Allow us to explain how and why it is being used.
Malt is added to beer for its flavor, but also for its carbohydrates (sugars). These “sugars” are broken down during the brewing process into bite-sized meals for the yeast. The yeast will then eat said sugars and excrete alcohol and carbon dioxide making “wort” into “beer”! Malt can be expensive, so some will replace malts natural sugars with a much cheaper product known as corn syrup.
We firmly believe this is one of the most tragic crimes against beer, aside from a beer with no head! Therefore we only use four very natural ingredients in any of our beer; malt, hops, yeast and water! That’s it, no chemicals or substitutes because good beer comes from hard work and quality ingredients! Prost!
